AprilStory

April Story is a dark fantasy action RPG and farming game for Windows, played as a side-scroller. It's built in Godot 4.7.

You play a homesteader in Blackbrook Valley, a painted world of mossy rock ledges, pine forest, waterfalls and lantern-lit timber towns, with a gothic citadel on the horizon. Exploration is MapleStory-style platforming across stacked levels of the map, with ladders, ledges you can drop through, and towns such as Stoneford and Pinewood.

Core loop

- Farm: till, plant, water and harvest wheat, barley, pumpkins and watermelons. Crops keep growing while you're away.

- Gather: chop trees, mine ore and gems, and dig up buried caches. About one dig in six turns up a strongbox with gems, potions, ammo or a rare map.

- Fight: a pistol with a 12-round magazine gives you range, but ammo runs out. Your farm tools also work as melee weapons that cost only stamina. There are 28 monster types, including wolves, skeletons, wraiths, golems and a necromancer.

- Quest: 26 quests from about 20 NPCs, from "bring me timber" errands up to boss hunts: Bloodfang, Thornmaw, the Ember Golem, Nocturna and the Hollow King.

Survival: you manage health, stamina and ammo. Campfires restore stamina, potions restore health in the field, and only the hearth at home fully heals you, which is why you have to keep walking back to base.

It supports keyboard/mouse and gamepad, has a rebindable toolbar and a 40-slot pack, and offers three save slots plus an autosave. It ships as a Windows installer (currently v1.5.0).
